Will Smith’s Wife Says That It’s Difficult For Her To Have Sex With Him Anymore

Will Smith has been married to Jada Pinkett Smith for decades. However, their marriage has gone through some changes in recent years. Most notably, Will Smith went public with how they now have an open marriage, which allowed Pinkett Smith to see other men and have sex with them. Because of their open relationship and the growing divide that seems to be separating Jada and Will, Jada Pinkett Smith recently confessed that it is very “hard” to maintain a healthy sex life with her husband after so much change in the years of their marriage.

During a recent conversation on the Facebook Live series Red Table Talk, Jada, 50, confessed that she “really tries” to maintain intimacy with her husband. However, she admitted that it now makes her “uncomfortable” having sex with the man she married because of everything that has been going on with their marriage.

Jada opened up about her struggling relationship while speaking to Gwyneth Paltrow on the Facebook show.

“The thing Will and I talk about a lot is the journey. We started in this at a very young age, you know, 22 years old.”

Jada added, “That’s why the accountability part really hit for me because I think you expect your partner to know (what you need), especially when it comes to sex. It’s like, ‘Well if you love me, you should know. If you love me, you should read my mind.’ That’s a huge pitfall.”

Paltrow was talking with Jada in order to promote her new Netflix series Sex, Love and Goop. She told Will Smith’s wife:

“Isn’t it weird, though? It’s like someone doesn’t read your mind, and we feel crushed.”

Jada and Will tied the knot back in 1997. She says she “really tries” to maintain a healthy sex life with her husband but that it has been a huge struggle recently.

“It’s uncomfortable, but it’s deeply healthy, and I think around sex because it’s something that we don’t talk about, and there’s so much fantasy around it.”

Will Smith recently spoke out about his open marriage to Jada. He expressed how they decided that they would no longer practice monogamy but would remain married to one another. In discussion with GQ, Smith said:

“Jada never believed in conventional marriage… Jada had family members that had an unconventional relationship. So she grew up in a way that was very different than how I grew up. There were significant endless discussions about what is relational perfection? What is the perfect way to interact as a couple? And for the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose, not thinking of monogamy as the only relational perfection.”

Will Smith added, “We have given each other trust and freedom, with the belief that everybody has to find their own way. And marriage for us can’t be a prison. And I don’t suggest our road for anybody. I don’t suggest this road for anybody. But the experiences that the freedoms that we’ve given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love.”
