Dad Forced To Remove His Kids’ Treehouse Over One Complaint

A neighbor did not like it when a dedicated dad built a treehouse for his beloved son. The neighbor filed a complaint about the tree fort, and the dad was forced to tear it down. Now the nosy neighbor has been dubbed a “Karen” for complaining about the children’s play fort, and the dad has caused an uproar on social media after he posted a note to the “anonymous passerby” who complained about the treehouse in the man’s yard.

Apparently, the neighbor complained about the treehouse to the man’s Homeowner’s Association, and the officials wanted him to remove it since it was a violation of the rules and agreement the people have to follow by being part of the HOA.

Now, the father, whose name appears to be Dave, has shared the note by posting it on a tree near his backyard. He wrote the note to the “Dear Anonymous Passerby,” who filed an official complaint with the HOA in order to get them to make the dedicated dad take down the tree fort as promptly as possible in order to stop the children from having fun in their yard.

“Don’t worry, you’re safe now!” he wrote. “Your act of casual cruelty was successful. The complaint you lodged against the HOA was heard. They had me take down the small tree fort that I built on this location with my sons during the pandemic.”

The dad wanted to make it as clear as possible to the person who posted the complaint to the Homeowner’s Association that he was upset with them and wanted them to suffer.

He continued: “No longer will its presence offend your walk past my house. Please enjoy your stroll free from the sound of my children’s play and laughter. They are safely back inside now, watching television, I’m sure.”

The father also shared a conclusion to his note, which stated the following in unobscured language.

“Enjoy the unobstructed view of my backyard. I will try to keep it up to code,” the letter to the neighborhood “Karen” finished.

Homeowner’s Associations limit what homeowners are able to do on their own property. Most people agree that HOAs should be avoided at all costs because they restrict freedoms that homeowners should be able to have – like being able to build a treehouse or fort in their backyard so their children can play outside and have fun.

When a neighbor or an HOA official files a complaint against a homeowner, the person usually has a bit of time to fix the problem before the HOA tries to make money off the person by issuing a devastating fine.

Although the father did not give any hints about who filed the official complaint about his treehouse to the HOA, the internet did brand the person a “Karen.” This indicates that the person went out of their way to bring authorities into the mix to make Dave, the dad, and his family suffer so they could get a bit more joy out of their misery.
