Moments After The Jury Convicted This Pedophile, He Took A Drink And Dropped Dead

A Texas pedophile was convicted of sexually assaulting a child. After his conviction in court, he drank a cloudy liquid from a water bottle and dropped dead. The mystery around his demises was all the talk around Texas, but it has now come to light from a medical examiner that 57-year-old sex offender Edward Leclair drank a deadly amount of sodium nitrite to kill himself instead of facing punishment from the legal system, which would have been hard on him.

Leclair collapsed to the ground after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting an underage child. He began drinking the poisonous liquid after the jury found him guilty of the first count, and he continued to drink the sodium nitrite as the court heard how he was guilty of additional counts. He had somehow gained access to the dangerous fluid while in the Texas courtroom.

The pedophile collapsed while in his cell and died shortly afterward. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the man’s death with Daily Mail, claiming that the manner of Leclair’s death was suicide by the ingestion of poisonous sodium nitrite.

Leclair was charged with five counts of child sexual assault because he raped a girl between the ages of thirteen and seventeen years old. He repeatedly assaulted the child between 2016 and 2018, around the time Donald Trump was elected to office and instated as the forty-fifth president of the United States of America.

First Assistant Attorney Jamie Beck from the Denton County District Attorney’s Office claimed that everything was normal leading up to the child rapist’s conviction. However, as soon as he was found guilty of the first count of sexual assault, he “chugged” the cloudy liquid in his water bottle and kept on drinking it as his guilt on the other four counts was announced.

“It wasn’t like he was just taking sips of water. He was literally throwing it back, so to speak,” Beck told WFAA back in August 2022 after the pedophile died following his courtroom appearance in Texas. At the time, Beck thought that Leclair’s actions were odd but assumed it was just the pedophile’s way of dealing with the fact that he was now a convicted sex offender.

Leclair was brought back to a holding cell. Officers later checked on him because of his odd behavior and found him collapsed on the floor. One witness said he had “gone gray” and the child rapist was rushed to the Medical City Denton, where he was pronounced dead.

Beck added: “Our investigator noticed him chug the water. He told the bailiff he might want to go check on him. The bailiff did. He was unconscious in the holding cell. Shortly after entering the holdover cell, he started vomiting, and emergency services were called.”

Leclair’s lawyer, Mike Howard, told The New York Times that his guilty client was facing up to one hundred years in prison.

Howard said, “I think he made the decision to do what he did at the last moment.”
