Burglar Gets Shot When He Tried To Break Into A Home When Mom Was There Was Her Kids

As crime continues to soar across the state of Texas, one mother was forced to defend herself and her children from a burglar who broke into her property and refused to leave. The man continued to try to get to the woman and her little kids while they were locked in the bedroom. But thankfully, the Texas mom was armed to the teeth and used a firearm to scare off the criminal by shooting him and injuring him during the home invasion.

After the Texas mom used her gun to wound the burglar, he fled the scene and nursed his injury. The mother had been hiding in her bedroom with her children when the intruder tried to invade her most private space and do horrible things to the young mother and kids.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office released a statement about the mother saying that the mother warned the home invader that she was armed and that she had dialed 911. Nevertheless, the intruder did not want to give up his invasion, and the mother was forced to use her Second Amendment right to bear arms to defend her family from the criminal intent on doing untold things to the mother and her children.

The break-in occurred on October 25, 2022, at 9 pm in Edinburg, Texas. The town is located along America’s southern border with Mexico. The town is located in the Rio Grande Valley region.

The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Carlos Garcia. Garcia “refused to leave” the home despite being warned that he was facing down the barrel of a firearm. Despite being warned that he could be shot by the scared mother, he “continued to try and get into the bedroom” so he could access the mother and her children for undescribed offenses.

Garcia broke into the home through the garage and was intent on causing harm to the family or at least stealing their belongings.

The mother fired the gun through the bedroom door at the invading Garcia. He was struck in the left arm and fled the house after receiving the gunshot wound from the defensive mother in the Texas community.

Because the mother had called 911 before she fired the gun, authorities arrived shortly after Garcia was shot. They found him hiding in a field about one hundred yards from the victim’s house.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra told KRGV: “You have the right to defend yourself in your own home against an intruder. I imagine she was in fear for her life … so she did what she had to do, and we support her.”

The sheriff added, “You don’t have to give notice, if someone’s breaking into your home you have the right to protect yourself and use deadly force, and you’re not going to have any problem with the sheriff of Hidalgo County.”

One person who follows the sheriff’s Facebook page wrote: “Great job protecting your kids. Glad to hear all is well. Your children will remember this and be proud of your courage to protect them and your home.”
