Beloved Comedian Passes Away At The Age Of 85

After having a career as a beloved American comedian, Freddie Roman passed away at the age of eighty-five after suffering from a catastrophic heart attack. The American stand-up comedian knew how to perform in front of audiences of all types and managed to complete countless shows throughout his career entertaining thousands of people with his jokes. He also acted in several pictures throughout his career and made a name for himself in the American comedy arena because of his talent and love for the field.

Roman was a very active comedian throughout his life. He maintained his career up until the very end of his life when he became less involved in his later years. Roman not only served as a stand-up comedian, but he also worked as a talented writer, actor, and producer. Now, his daughter, Judi Levin, has spoken to TMZ about her father’s death and how he passed away in the hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida. According to Roman’s daughter, the comedian suffered a heart attack on Saturday morning while he was resting in his country club home.

Roman’s daughter confirmed that his entire family was present for his final moments, including his wife of sixty-three years Ethel, who never left his side during his moment of need.

Roman’s claim to fame will forever be his Friars Club ensemble work. He was once the leader of the famous New York City club that was known for having a stable of comics available to deliver entertaining shows to the audiences night after night. He served as the dean of the Friars Club from the 1990s until Larry King succeeded him in 2014.

In addition to his standup comedy, Roman co-wrote and starred in the stage show Catskills on Broadway. He also performed at high-ranking venues across the country over the years including Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as Harrah’s in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Roman was also an expert roaster. He participated in several big-time Comedy Central roasts where he delivered jokes making fun of fellow comedians Drew Carey, Rob Reiner, Hugh Hefner, Chevy Chase, and Jerry Stiller.

When it came to TV appearances, Roman had a bunch under his belt including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Now That’s Funny!, Stark Raving Mad, and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Freddie Roman will be missed.
