A furious bartender has gone viral on TikTok after he shooed customers out of his bar at 2 am if they did not pay upwards of forty percent in tips. Jordan, the bartender from Rockford, Illinois, has made headlines after he posted a viral slip on the Chinese-created social media app TikTok that has been viewed more than four million times and counting.
The TikTok content creator regularly shares videos with his seventeen thousand followers on the Chinese social media platform, where he creates videos doing lively dances and very funny impersonations of famous people as well as other people in his life. The popular TikTok user shares content under his user name @jsauce527.
In Jordan’s viral TikTok video, he shows a bartender getting irritable and pushing customers out of the bar late at night because it was two in the morning and the bartender was ready to “go the f*** home.” In the video, the bartender complained about customers who were not paying forty percent tips on their drink orders as well as those who were still at the bar but not dating staff at the establishment.
The furious bartender shouted at the late-night customers, “If you’re not f*****g the bartenders or tipping forty percent, get the f*** out of the bar. It is two o’clock, and I’m ready to go the f*** home.”
The bartender added, “Get out!”
After Jordan uploaded the viral video to the Chinese social media platform, it was met with a furious response from people all over the world. Many people thought the bartender was funny for making a joke about people dating bartenders and tipping forty percent. However, there were also a lot of people who found it outrageous that the bartender expected forty percent tips from people who simply wanted to be at the establishment late at night.
“Everyone saying forty percent is ridiculous; that’s the point. They want you to leave,” wrote one commenter.
Another added, “In many bars and restaurants, when it hits close, the store makes no money, and the workers might not get paid for overtime. They want to go home.”
Someone else said, “You all did not pass the vibe check. This is hilarious and fun! I’d be tipping more before I left. I do not partake anymore, but you all seem like fun!”
However, many people found it outrageous that the bartender expected such a large tip from their customers.
“I’d leave no tip after that,” one person wrote in the TikTok comments on Jordan’s viral video.
Another person wrote, “I wouldn’t leave a tip after that, and there would be absolutely no consequences because it’s my money.”
A third added, “I thought twenty percent was good, now forty percent, and someone is yelling and complaining.”
Someone else said, “Never tip someone for doing their job.”
A fifth person added to the conversation, “I remember these days yelling at everyone.”
