Meaning behind Bianca Censori’s Grammy’s outfit ‘revealed’

There’s not much that hasn’t been said about the bold fashion choices made by Bianca Censori, wife of award-winning rapper Kanye West.

Over the past few years, Censori’s outfits – or, erm, lack of – have become a regular topic of discussion. Whether it’s at high-end red carpet events or simply strolling the streets, the 30-year-old model has courted controversy on the regular by way of donning a wardrobe that’s not so much sensational as simply scantily-clad.

As such, it’s perhaps not surprising that the Australian model made headlines this weekend after appearing alongside her husband at the 2025 Grammys last night (February 2).

With what has become a characteristic look of late, Censori practically bared all on the red carpet after dropping the black feather coat she had on. Beneath the coat, the model wore a completely see-through mesh dress without any lingerie underneath. The daring ensemble left little to the imagination, sparking a tidal wave of reactions both at the event and online.

Before long, the hashtag #BiancaCensori was trending, offering a mix of shock, criticism, and disbelief from internet users the world over.

”She needs to just put all that away… I’m all for women empowering their bodies, but this?” one user wrote on X.

In light of Censori’s recent string of eye-catching outings, it’s been widely discussed online if her husband, the eccentric Kayne West, doesn’t lie at the heart of the decision making.

Whether it’s Kanye calling the shots or not, the 47-year-old music mogul doesn’t appear to have an issue with little being left to the imagination where his wife’s body is concerned.

After the showing on the red carpet at this year’s Grammys, West took to Instagram to explain that the mini-dress had been made custom for her.

“Custom Couture Grammy dress for the most beautiful woman ever,” West wrote. “My best friend. My wife.”

But that still begs the question as to just why she wore it? Well, we may just have the answer, based on a theory currently doing the rounds online.

Supposedly, Censori’s choice of… erm, dress, alludes to the original artwork for West’s Vultures 1 album cover, which features a near-naked Censori with her back to the camera.

Despite the fact that most of her flesh was on show in the album image, Censori was still wearing more than she did last night. For the album cover, she wore thigh-high black boots, while a bit of fabric at least party covered her backside.

Page Six say that’s the reason Censori and West wore their respective outfits for the 2025 Grammys is because they were trying to recreate the aforementioned album cover.

West had been nominated for Best Rap Song at the awards show for his track Carnival, though it was Kendrick Lamar who took home the accolade for his number Not Like Us.
