The Sprouse Twins today: Inside their life now, at 30

The Remarkable Journey of the Sprouse Twins: From Child Stars to Established Actors
The Early Stardom of Dylan and Cole Sprouse
With blue eyes that captivated millions, Dylan and Cole Sprouse found themselves in the spotlight at a tender age of eight months. Like a reflection of the famed Olsen sisters, the Sprouse twins charmed audiences and critics alike with their shared performances, a result of child labor laws limiting the working hours of young performers.

They notably shared the role of Patrick Kelly in the popular series “Grace Under Fire” from 1993 to 1998, quickly securing a place in the hearts of viewers around the world.

Stepping into the Limelight: ‘Big Daddy’

The Sprouse twins’ big breakthrough came in 1999 when they starred alongside Adam Sandler in the film “Big Daddy”. Their perfectly timed lines and compelling performance captivated millions, marking their entry into mainstream cinema.

Expressing his admiration for Sandler, Cole stated, “Perhaps I’m a bit biased because I’ve known him for ages, but I do admire his career. He’s got a really, really wonderful balance between art and commerce that I think is the currency of a real working actor.”

Cole Sprouse in ‘Friends’

In 2020, Cole landed a solo role in the iconic series “Friends”, playing Ross Gellar’s son, a character portrayed by David Schwimmer. When asked about his favorite episode, Cole confessed his fondness for “The One with the Holiday Armadillo”, revealing a childhood crush on Jennifer Aniston and how he was quite intimidated around her.

Sharing the Screen Once Again: ‘Master of Disguise’
The brothers again shared a role, this time as young Pistachio Disguisey in the film “Master of Disguise”.

However, it was the 2005 TV show “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” that truly established them as child stars. The show, which ran until 2008, was followed by “The Suite Life on Deck” until 2011.

Off the Screens and Into Academia
Following their successful TV series, both Dylan and Cole took a break from acting to pursue higher education. While Dylan delved into video game design, Cole studied humanities and archaeology.

“I needed to take a break and step outside myself, I needed a dose of reality,” Cole reflected on their hiatus.

“And now I think I can enjoy [acting], which is a really fundamental part about being an actor.”

The Sprouse Twins: Back in Action
Post-graduation, the Sprouse brothers made a triumphant return to acting. Cole, now dating French-Canadian model Ari Fournier, secured the role of Jughead Jones in the TV show “Riverdale”. Dylan, engaged to Sports Illustrated model Barbara Palvin, ventured into films like “Dismissed” and “Banana Split”.

Reflecting on their future collaborations, Dylan mused, “It’s more likely that I will write something for us to work in together, rather than someone approach us. Twin movies are never good! That’s just the universal truth I think the universe has given to us, and so if we can find the right thing then, yeah.”

The Sprouse twins, who grew up under the watchful eyes of millions, continue to captivate audiences with their performances. It’s heartening to see them both carving successful careers in the world of film.
