Worrying Steven Tyler health update at 75 confirms the rumors – and it’s what we feared

Tens of thousands of Aerosmith fans waiting for a chance to see glimpse of Steven Tyler were dealt bad news this week as the group announced they had been forced to postpone six upcoming dates from their final ever tour: Peace Out: The Farewell Tour.

The legendary rock band provided an update to the masses via their Instagram page, confirming that shows in Toronto (penciled for September 12), Chicago (September 15), Detroit (September 18), Cleveland (September 21), Raleigh (September 24) and Washington D.C. (September 27) have all been pushed back until early 2024.

The reason sadly lies with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, who explained in the Instagram post that doctors have instructed him not to sing at all for the next 30 days after he sustained substantial vocal cord damage.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding.

‘We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

Aerosmith added: “All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Fans with questions regarding refunds are asked to reach out to their point of purchase.”

Peace Out: The Farewell Tour was announced on May 1 and will consist of 40 dates that were expected to take place between September 2 (Philadelphia) and January 26 (Montreal).

The postponements, however, mean that the tour will instead finish at a later date. As per the latest reports, the Aerosmith will begin touring again on Monday, October 11.

The band’s decision to give their legion of fans one final tour is commendable considering the respective ages of its members. Tyler turned 75 years old in March, and one can only imagine the toll the rigors of a 40-show tour might take on his body.

That said, it’s hardly surprising that he’s willing to go the extra mile, especially given the selfless character he’s exhibited in the past.

Back in 2019, the Aerosmith frontman helped to establish a home for abused and neglected girls, even donating $500,000 towards the renovation of a suitable 82-acre building located just outside of Memphis.

Named “Janie’s House” after Aerosmith’s hit 1989 song Janie’s Got a Gun, the house aims to provide a safe space for those women who have nowhere to go.

Here’s to hoping Steven Tyler can get back on his feet and doing what he does best quickly!
