This year, California received its fair share of rain which helped with the drought the state was going through but wreaked havoc on the infrastructure. The result has been disastrous; a lot of potholes have opened up.

Road crew members are having a hard time keeping up with the maintenance because the number of complaints they have is hard to keep up with. But some people are now tired of waiting for their complaints to be addressed.
One of those people was Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former professional bodybuilder got a team together and decided to tackle the issue head-on on their own.

The former governor of California said his neighborhood had been waiting for weeks for the pothole to be fixed. So he got his hands on some Quikrete and along with his team got t work.

He then posted a video of the act on social media in a way to encourage others to take matters into their own hands and take action when they want something to be made right!

“Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it,” he wrote on in his tweet. “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”

A neighbor drove by as the former governor was working to fix the pothole. He thanked Schwarzenegger who said to her, “You’re welcome,” further adding, “You have to do it yourself. This is crazy. For three weeks I’ve been waiting for this hole to be closed.”

As for the pothole, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works has said what Schwarzenegger fixed was not exactly a pothole but a service trench that the Southern California Gas Company had to repair.

The L.A.-based utility company further clarified that it was a concrete street and not an asphalt street, meaning the fix that Schwarzenegger was talking about on social media would likely not work.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s heart was in the right place. What do you think of the former governor of California getting his hands dirty to make things happen? Let us know in the comments!
